A Poem To Sit With
27th Sunday of Ordinary Time C
October 6, 2013

For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice
but rather of power and love and self-control.
So do not be ashamed of your testimony to our Lord.
(Second Reading)

Alone with God
nothing to hide
nothing to apologize for

resting in His Presence
as a nursling in its mothers arms
contented—a wordless trust
a wordless peace

letting go of every thought
letting go of all desire
letting go fears
letting go injuries past

resting in God’s Now
in a prayer of quiet
serenity—silence—peace
