THE GOSPEL
Matthew 25:14-30Immediately the one who received five talents went and traded …
and made another five.
Jesus,
we know
your nature is
to give yourself away.
Let us too
give ourselves away.
Then receive
back
a share
in the
Master’s
joy.
THE FIRST READING
Proverbs 31:10-13, 19-20, 30-31Charm is deceptive, and beauty fleeting; the woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Worthy lady,
what beauty do you have?
Where is it?
In the
clever way
you use your talents?
In the lowly ones around you?
Please God,
lend us her merciful hands
and let us spend our
lives and
gifts
on
others!
THE SECOND READING
1 Thessalonians 5:1-6For you yourselves know that the day of the Lord will come
like a thief in the night.
Lord,
banish
our fear of you
as if you were a thief in the night!
Birth us into your day.
Children of
the
light.
We watch and wait
for you.
