THE
GOSPEL
John 6:37-40
That I should not lose anything of what he gave me.
|
Jesus,
Take us all,
each and every one.
Be hope in our despair.
Invite us all out of darkness.
Let us see you, believe in you.
Bind us all to yourself
Love us forever,
through all
eternity.
Thank you
for doing the will
of the one who sent you.
Gratias.
THE
FIRST
READING
Wisdom 3:1-9
In the time of their visitation they shall shine,
and shall dart about as sparks through stubble.*
|
At
peace
In God’s land
the souls of the just
“dart about as sparks through
stubble.”
Lord,
Let them abide with you in love
and understand all truth.
And let us too
shine
like sparks in the stubble
of this world.
• Stubble: the cut stocks of grain plants left sticking out of
the ground after the grain is harvested.
THE
SECOND
READING
Romans 5:5-11
Indeed, if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, how much more, once reconciled, will we be saved by his life.
|
God,
you sent the Holy Spirit.
You poured yourself
into our hearts.
Before,
we were ordinary dwellings;
now we are temples sheltering divinity.
Because Jesus walked
on our streets,
on our earth,
all is holy
now.
Christ,
let us boast
of the Father’s love.
