Reflecting on the Gospel and Living the Paschal Mystery
|
Key
words and phrases: Passover; during supper; wash the disciples' feet; as I have done for you, you should also do
|
To
the point: Celebrating the "Passover of the LORD" (first reading), Jesus shared a festive supper with his most intimate friends and modeled for us two concrete expressions of what it means to "pass over" into fullness of life.
He gave over his own body and blood to nourish and strengthen us (second reading), and he knelt down before his disciples in loving service. "[A]s I have done, for you, you should also do." This is our own Passover.
